Little Darwins Nursery is looking to hire a SEND support Practitioner/Assistant to work 2 days per week, 8am-5pm. In this role you will support a children each session to manage their medical needs (diabetes). Experience or knowledge of this area of need is desirable.
Little Darwins Nursery is an OFSTED 'OUTSTANDING' nursery set in the small village of Rettendon in close proximity to South Woodhams Ferrers, Wickford and Chelmsford. The nursery is a purpose-built setting which has large rooms, extensive gardens and access the large field of Rettendon Primary school.
Your duties will include:
- Care for, play with and teach a child with additional needs following strategies which meet the child's needs.
- Follow a personalised visual timetable.
- Lead interventions planned specifically for each child.
- Be part of one planning meetings with parents and professionals alongside the SENCo in setting.
- Plan for activities to meet targets agreed at one plan meeting.
- Support children to access our curriculum and provision.
- Care for children's care needs following procedures and policies in place.
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis regarding child's development and well-being.
- Take part in training to strengthen knowledge and skills.
- Use a clean as you go approach throughout sessions which maintains a clean and safe environment.
Pay: £13.25-£13.65 per hour
