About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Senior Cleaner to join our friendly team at our nursery and community centre. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, including some weekend work, ideal for someone who is proactive, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
As a Senior cleaner, you will be responsible for supporting the leadership, overseeing inventory and cleaning alongside and supporting a small cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises. The role may also involve some light caretaking duties, such as moving tables, chairs, setting up halls, light washing up, and reporting any issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- support a small team of cleaners, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard
- Carry out cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, sanitising surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, and emptying bins
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are well-maintained and stocked
- Organise and delegate tasks effectively, assisting team members as needed
- Perform regular quality checks and uphold health and safety standards
- Carry out basic caretaking duties such as setting up for events
- Work closely with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the cleaning service
Requirements:
- Previous experience in cleaning, with some supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Ability to lead abf motivate a small team
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Ability to undertake light caretaking responsibilities as required
