The Supply Room is hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on behalf of an Alternative Provision School in Cheltenham on a maternity cover basis.
This role will primarily involve supporting and delivering learning in English and Maths Functional Skills, alongside facilitating and supporting PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) sessions. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping learners achieve their educational goals within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support Functional Skills English and Maths sessions to KS4.
- Assist learners in developing confidence, knowledge, and skills to achieve their qualifications.
- Support the delivery of PSHE programmes that promote personal development, wellbeing, and employability skills.
- Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support learner outcomes.
- Adapt learning approaches to meet the individual needs of learners.
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a recognised HLTA or QTS (ECT) qualification or have equivalent experience.
- Have experience supporting or delivering English and Maths Functional Skills, preferably across KS4.
- Possess a good understanding of PSHE delivery.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be organised, proactive, and committed to supporting learner success.
- Have experience working with learners who may require additional support (desirable).
