The Royal Hotel is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Sous Chef. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a prestigious hospitality environment, ensuring exceptional service and culinary standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen operations, managing food preparation, and maintaining high levels of food safety and hospitality. Previous experience in restaurant or hotel settings, along with strong leadership skills, are essential for this role. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Supervise food production and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Manage food preparation processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Lead and motivate team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating culinary creativity and guest preferences
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
- Provide exceptional hospitality by supporting serving staff and addressing guest needs promptly
- Train new staff members in food safety procedures, culinary techniques, and customer service expectations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hotel kitchen environment
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Extensive kitchen experience with a focus on culinary excellence and food safety standards
- Familiarity with hospitality operations, including serving guests and managing customer interactions
- Knowledge of restaurant management practices, including stock control and menu development
- Previous experience in food safety compliance and maintaining high hygiene standards
