PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £30,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Local Business & Operations Team is recruiting three Business & Resource Scheduling Coordinators to support teams across BBC Local.
Reporting to the Business Advisor, these roles sit within a wider Business Management and Administration team. They involve scheduling resources, coordinating contracts in line with operational requirements, terms and conditions, and business objectives, and providing broad business support.
We seek organised, proactive individuals with strong communication and problem-solving skills, who can thrive in fast-paced environments. Attention to detail, excellent planning and organisational ability, and experience using scheduling systems are essential.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Manage staff resource scheduling in line with operational requirements and terms of condition, ensuring accurate and timely processing of rotas, timesheets, leave, and staffing records.
Act as the first point of contact for routine scheduling queries, working closely with colleagues and escalating issues where necessary. Liaise with scheduling colleagues, production, and project teams to plan forward resourcing and meet future staffing needs.
Be proactive in contributing to the cost effective use of resources, including managing overtime, freelance, and casual staff, and ensuring all additional hours are accurately recorded and approved.
Ensure staff utilisation is effectively managed in line with contractual hours, supporting cost-efficient scheduling and optimal resource allocation.
Collaborate with key functional teams such as Payments & Purchasing and Business Logistics to maintain accurate data, enabling workflows and effective operational delivery.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Sound knowledge and experience of a resource scheduling system together with well-developed IT skills.
Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to assess programme and staffing priorities; to act with minimum supervision and deal with conflicting demands in a busy environment to meet deadlines.
Has a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal discreetly and tactfully with members of staff, ensuring that the BBC Respect at Work policy is adhered to at all times.
Excellent knowledge of or ability to learn the BBC’s terms and conditions and policies to enable support of Resource Scheduling.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience user of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Teams and Outlook.
Experience of working in a programme making environment, good general knowledge of programme making techniques and detailed knowledge of techniques related to own area of responsibility.
