Description of Department:
A Response Officer is at the frontline of policing, providing an immediate response to a wide range of incidents and offences. Officers deal with everything from crime in progress and safeguarding concerns to supporting victims and protecting vulnerable people from harm.
This is a dynamic, uniformed role requiring officers to work early, late and night shifts as part of a 24/7 service. Due to the operational demands of the role, there is no opportunity for flexible working arrangements. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-
paced environment where no two shifts are the same and where making a positive difference to the community is at the heart of the role.
This opportunity is open to Police Constables (internal applicants only) who can demonstrate:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise workload and perform under pressure
- Effective organisational and workload management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Commitment to delivering a high standard of service
Essential Criteria
- Substantive Police Constable confirmed out of probation
- In-date officer safety and emergency first aid training
- Must not be subject to any current UPP, performance or misconduct processes
- Operational flexibility
Desirable Criteria
- Police Basic/Response Driver
The application and interview will be tested under Level 1 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework. (max 500 words)
