Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality support to individuals in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires effective communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate care plans and documentation in accordance with organisational policies.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on care needs.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in care practices.
- Drive residents to appointments or social activities when necessary, ensuring their comfort during transportation.
- Utilise IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
- NVQL 2 in Health and Social care.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and staff.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the care home schedule.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when needed.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation.

Pay: £12.71-£12.89 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 36.0 per week
