SEN Class Teacher (SEMH)
Location: Brampton, Cumbria
Start Date: September 2026 This role is available as Permanent or Temp to Perm.
- Salary: £28,000 - £39,520 per annum
- Day rate if temp to perm- £180 - £250
An outstanding specialist SEN school in Brampton, Cumbria is looking for a dedicated Class Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, creative, and passionate teacher who wants to make a real difference working with children with SEMH needs. You will be supporting the youngest pupils (aged 7+) with a wide range of special educational needs in a nurturing environment.

Located in Brampton, Cumbria, this specialist school provides residential care and education for boys aged 7-18. We are a well-established provider focused on improving the resilience, self-esteem, and abilities of vulnerable young people. Role Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons within the national curriculum tailored to pupils with complex SEMH needs
- Supporting the class team to facilitate learning opportunities and promote positive behaviours
- Monitoring and reporting on pupils’ progress and concerns, and liaising with staff to ensure individual needs are met
- Supervision of pupils during non-classroom times, including extracurricular activities and school trips
- Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and positive learning outcomes within a nurturing environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree level education
- Previous successful teaching experience
- Some experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
- Experience of behaviour management and techniques
- Committed to ongoing professional development and willing to learn
