Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paediatric Complex Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals with complex health needs. This role involves delivering personalised care within a care home environment or through home care services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and committed to enhancing the well-being of those in their care. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the comfort and safety of each child.
- Assist with daily activities such as PEG feeding, medication administration, mobility support, and personal hygiene.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of care.
- Support children in participating in activities that promote their development and wellbeing.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times, including infection control protocols.
- Use IT systems for recording and updating care records efficiently.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care for children with complex needs is necessary.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Strong IT skills for documentation and scheduling purposes
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and collaborate with colleagues
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for children requiring complex care.
