Multi-Trade Operative – North / North West London

Location
We have placed the advert in North London as a general area, as we are looking for candidates to cover the whole N and NW regions of London, perhaps W London as well.
The role
We are looking for candidates to join us in the role of a Multi-Trade Operative to conduct a wide range of maintenance repairs and projects.
You’ll carry out a mix of:
- General maintenance and repairs
- Planned works and small projects
What you’ll be doing
- Completing repairs to a high standard
- Working safely and following H&S procedures
- Recording work and materials used
- Working independently or as part of a team
What you’ll need
- Proven experience in at least 1–2 core trades (for example: carpentry, plumbing, painting & decorating, tiling, plastering, roofing, flooring, locksmithing, or general building maintenance)
- Ability to carry out a range of maintenance, repair, and installation works to a high standard
- Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, or equivalent) are highly desirable
- Candidates with recognised qualifications and demonstrated competency in multiple trades will be considered for higher salary levels
- Experience working in commercial, retail, hospitality, or facilities maintenance environments is advantageous
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to safe working practices and compliance with Health & Safety requirements
Pay
Competitive basic salary, with the starting salary being negotiable based on the successful candidate's skills, qualifications in their chosen trades, their trade experience, and overall suitability for the role. Candidates holding recognised qualifications in one or more trades and demonstrating competency across multiple disciplines may be considered for the upper end of the salary range.
Realistic total earnings: £33,000 – £60,000+
(including overtime, call-out fees for attending out-of-hours work, and bonus schemes)
- 7.5% bonus scheme available
- Regular overtime available and paid at double time
- Additional consideration may be given to candidates with multiple trade disciplines, specialist skills, or extensive relevant experience
