Are you a Receptionist / administrator looking to make a difference? Do you want to work in an environment that's actively helping people? Due to a retirement the Birchwood Practice are recruiting a medical receptionist for 18 hours per week. The hours are to be worked over 2 days - Monday 8.30-6pm, Thursday 9.00am-6.30pm . We do need someone who is flexible in times of sickness and holiday and although this role will predominately be based at our Creekmoor surgery there may be times when you will need to work at our branch surgery which is based in Oakdale.
The ideal candidate needs to be an excellent communicator with interpersonal skills and ideally have some GP practice experience but this is not essential as training will be given. As a Medical Receptionist you will be the face of the practice and together with your colleagues you will be supporting our patients and the clinical teams that care for them.
The role is varied and no two days are the same but the job will include answering phones, navigating patients to the correct service/appointments, manning front desk, scanning, and issuing prescriptions and other administrative tasks requested by the Management team. The aim of this role will be to providing comprehensive support to the multidisciplinary team at the Practice and to give the best possible service to the patients.
You will be joining an amazing practice team who are friendly and very supportive towards each other, and who pride themselves on their professional and caring approach to supporting the 10,500 patients under their care and the local community.
Job Role
To provide a high quality, professional reception service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional manner. To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled.

Requirements are:
- Have a valid and current driving licence
- Experience of working in the NHS (advantageous not essential)
- Excellent Customer Service and IT Skills
- Team player as well as working independently
