We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Bar Manager to help run busy, music-led venues across the UK (Somerset/Bristol area). and help with 1 venue in the French Alps .This is a unique role for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in live environments, and is happy to work between two countries—keeping standards consistent, teams supported, and service running smoothly.Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day bar operations: service standards, cleanliness, opening/closing, cashing up
- Manage and motivate staff: rota planning, training, shift leadership, performance feedback
- Stock control: ordering, stocktakes, wastage control, supplier relationships
- Maintain compliance: licensing, food safety where relevant, health & safety, incident logs
- Support events and busy services: live music nights, private hires, peak season trading
- Maintain brand consistency across both locations (service style, menu standards, customer experience)
- Troubleshoot operational issues quickly and calmly
- Work closely with the owner to improve systems, margins, and team confidence
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Bar Manager / Supervisor in a high-volume bar or venue
- Strong leadership: confident running shifts and developing staff
- Great operational discipline: stock, cash, compliance, checklists
- Warm, guest-focused style with high standards
- Comfortable working independently and communicating clearly with the owner
- Able to travel and work between France and the UK (reliable, organised, flexible)
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in France and/or the UK (or ability to obtain it)
- Valid passport and ability to travel regularly
- English fluent; French conversational (or willingness to improve) is a big plus
- Availability for evenings/weekends during peak periods
Nice to Have
- Cocktail knowledge / menu development
- Experience in live music venues or events
- Training/HR experience (onboarding, SOPs, staff handbooks)
- Driving licence
Contract / Schedule (customise)
- Split-location schedule (e.g. 2–4 weeks in France / 2–4 weeks in the UK)
- Competitive pay depending on experience + potential performance bonus
- Accommodation support may be available during France stints (if applicable)
