About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our team, working on a prestigious public sector maintenance contract across three fixed sites in Central London:
- Denmark Hill
- London Bridge
- The Strand
This is a site-based/mobile role with no extensive travelling across London, allowing you to work within a dedicated portfolio of buildings. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, fault finding and minor repairs on a range of commercial air conditioning systems, ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with maintenance schedules.
- Service and maintain commercial air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out first-time repairs where possible.
- Clean and replace filters, inspect coils and condensers, and check system performance.
- Carry out minor reactive maintenance and identify remedial works.
- Complete electronic service reports and maintenance records accurately.
- Liaise professionally with on-site facilities management teams and end users.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment to a high standard.
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota if required.
Equipment Experience
The successful candidate will have experience working on a variety of commercial HVAC equipment including:
- VRV/VRF systems
- Split and multi-split systems
- Cassette units
- Ducted systems
- Ceiling suspended units
- Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
- Heat pump systems
- Air handling units (AHUs) (desirable)
Experience with manufacturers such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Panasonic and LG is advantageous.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Service & Maintenance Engineer.
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within commercial environments.
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 / City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- IPAF Licence.
- PASMA Licence.
- ECS or CSCS Card.
- Experience working within public sector or healthcare environments.
