Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, emotional and Mental Health) Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialised learning programmes tailored to children with diverse needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. Duties
- Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects, including speech therapy, maths, physical education, and early childhood education.
- Support children with behavioural management strategies to promote positive behaviour and social skills.
- Provide specialised tutoring and mentoring to enhance academic progress, including proofreading and applied behaviour analysis techniques.
- Assist with toddler care and preschool activities, ensuring a nurturing environment for early learners.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning space.
- Contribute to the organisation of extracurricular activities that support holistic development.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in special education settings or early childhood environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis, and behaviour management strategies.
- Competence in teaching subjects such as maths, physical education, and toddler care.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Organisation skills for lesson planning, proofreading educational materials, and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring children with diverse learning requirements.
- Passion for supporting children’s development through inclusive teaching practices and childcare expertise.
