Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 2 to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe delivery, exchange and collection of skips within the Leicestershire Area. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 HGV Skip lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure roadworthiness
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and delivery of goods
- Loading and unloading of skips as required, adhering to health and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate effectively customers regarding schedules or any issues encountered during transit
- Adhere strictly to all driving laws and company policies to ensure safety at all times
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a Skip Driver
- Familiarity with vehicle operations and securing loads securely
- Good knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating organisational skills and reliability
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
