QUALITY INSPECTOR
AFT Fluorotec Group and have been producing precision engineered plastic components for nearly 30 years to a variety of industries, including; Aerospace, F1, Defence, Medical and Communications. We machine plastics components from drawing in small to large batch quantities and the job role is very varied and interesting. We are based in Welwyn Garden City , Hertfordshire.
JOB BRIEF
In this role, you will be responsible for measuring and checking the quality of our products using various equipment such as micrometres, verniers and vision systems.
You will collaborate with the senior quality team & support drive continuous improvement, and contribute to building high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for attention to detail, at least 1 year of quality assurance experience, and a positive & proactive mindset.
Responsibilities
· Select component samples from production batches & based on a quality level (AQL) check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, comparing to specifications and completing paperwork etc.)
· Maintain records, information, and various metrics scan and save Production records
· Quality check entire production runs from 1st off inspection to patrols and End of Runs
· Monitor the production progress reports to ensure in process checks are carried out.
· Cross check paperwork, drawing revisions, material batch numbers and batch tickets to ensure traceability and completion of paperwork is carried out by production staff.
· Cover the day to day inspection and help support the workflow to capture issues early.
· Potential need to become involved in other areas of the processes such as deburring, goods in and goods out – willing to be a usable resource at busy times·
Requirement
Proven experience inspecting precision‑machined components
· Experience working with plastics / engineered polymer materials (e.g. PTFE, PEEK, PCTFE) highly advantageous
· Competence in reading and understanding technical drawings and GD&T
· Hands‑on metrology skills and use of precision inspection tools
· Background in aerospace, medical, or other regulated / precision industries strongly preferred.
