SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School

New Formation Education is currently recruiting for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Kensington and Chelsea.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly pupils with autism (ASC) and additional learning needs.
You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including autism and communication needs
- Support children’s academic, social and emotional development
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Support pupils with routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
- Help prepare classroom resources and differentiated learning materials
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents where required
- Support pupils during break times, school trips, and other activities
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or care setting
- Experience supporting children with SEN, autism, ADHD, or additional needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Passion for inclusive education and child development
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
