Job Overview
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Nursery Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic, organised, and meet health and safety standards. This role is essential in providing a pleasant space for children, staff, and visitors alike. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment while working within a supportive team.
This role is for 3 hours a day between 11am and 2pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties across all nursery areas, including playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and staff rooms
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitised and disinfected in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming as required
- Empty bins regularly and dispose of waste responsibly
- Restock cleaning supplies and toiletries as needed to ensure continuous availability
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to uphold hygiene standards
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times during cleaning activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
- Previous experience working in childcare environments is advantageous but not essential
