As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Area Manager, you'll launch and grow on new set of fundraising teams in the Newcastle area, driving exciting campaigns that directly support our mission to make it easier for everyone to walk, wheel and cycle.
Once the Newcastle region is established and successful the remit of this role will grow to potentially manage our other regions in the north of England and Scotland.
Working on the national cycle network, this is a hands-on role, you'll work alongside your team to raise funds, coach and inspire Fundraisers and Team Leaders, and help expand our vital work in making walking, wheeling and cycling easier and safer for everyone.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: £33,265 per year, with the potential to earn
- £42k OTE through performance-based bonuses.
- Hours: Full-time 30-37.5 hours per week, with flexible hours available.
- Leave: 26 days holiday plus bank holidays. We also close for Christmas and you’ll get 2 free days off over the period.
- Please note this is contract with external staffing agency Inspired People on working assignment with Sustrans.
Team Coaching & Performance
- Coach multiple fundraising teams across the region, delivering in-person and remote support to help fundraisers consistently hit their targets.
- Identify individual development needs and build the skills, confidence, and habits that drive high performance.
Fundraising Leadership
- Lead from the front — meeting your own individual fundraising targets by signing up long-term monthly donors.
- Be a visible, active presence on-site: fundraising alongside your team, covering absences, and providing live coaching and motivation.
Training & Development
- Design and deliver on-the-field and off-the-field coaching sessions to develop fundraising technique and drive income growth.
- Deliver regular compliance training, pitch practice, and health and safety briefings in line with organisational standards.
Operational Oversight & Compliance
- Ensure teams operate in line with health and safety, GDPR, and compliance standards at all times.
- Conduct observation audits and quality control checks to uphold Walk Wheel Cycle Trust's professional standards and best practices.
Performance Management
- Monitor and analyse key campaign KPIs — sign-ups per hour, average gift amount, Gift Aid rates, attrition, and fundraiser feedback.
- Conduct performance reviews and build tailored improvement plans to help fundraisers reach their potential.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Partner with our recruitment agency to coordinate interviews, assess candidates, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
- Support the induction process to set new fundraisers up for early success.
Campaign Administration & Reporting
- Manage rotas, travel logistics, and equipment levels to keep operations running smoothly.
- Provide daily field reports covering team observations, actions taken, successes, and coaching opportunities.
Target Achievement & Incentives
- Drive teams to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets across income, quality, and supporter experience.
- Help design and deliver incentive schemes that keep fundraisers motivated and performing at their best.
Supporter & Complaint Handling
- Handle supporter feedback and complaints professionally, following Walk Wheel Cycle Trust processes to ensure timely resolution and sustained trust.
Operational & Strategic Support
- Step up as acting Team Leader when needed, taking responsibility for team strategy, targets, and KPIs during absences.
