The Role:
We are seeking compassionate, experienced, and highly motivated Senior Carers to join our established team. As a Senior Carer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to our residents living with dementia, as well as providing leadership and support to our care assistants. You will be instrumental in upholding our dementia-friendly philosophy and ensuring the well-being and happiness of those in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor: Provide guidance, support, and supervision to care assistants, ensuring best practices are followed and promoting a positive team environment.
- Person-centred care: Deliver exceptional personal care, medication administration, and support with daily living activities, always adapting approaches to individual needs and preferences.
- Dementia care expertise: Implement and champion dementia-friendly approaches, including effective communication strategies, engaging activities, and environmental adaptations.
- Care planning and assessment: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individualised care plans, ensuring they reflect residents' evolving needs and wishes.
- Communication: Liaise effectively with residents, their families, healthcare professionals, and the wider care team, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with CQC regulations and company policies.
- Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and ensure the safety and dignity of all residents.
- Emergency response: Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, escalating as necessary.
About You:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Significant experience working as a Carer, with demonstrable experience in a senior role within a residential care setting.
- Proven experience and a strong understanding of dementia care and dementia-friendly practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- A genuine passion for caring for older adults and individuals living with dementia.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Reliable, compassionate, and empathetic with a positive attitude.
- Understanding of CQC regulations and best practice in care.
- Experienced in Medication administration.
