Class 2 Driver (HGV2) – Bedford
MK Personnel Solutions are recruiting for Class 2 Drivers to join our client, based in Bedford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established company offering ongoing work with the potential to go permanent.
The Role
- Start time: 6:00am
- Finish time: between 2:00pm – 6:00pm
- Working days: Monday to Friday
- You will be working with a Driver’s Mate
- Multi-drop deliveries to customer premises
- Delivering alcohol products, including kegs (physically demanding role)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver orders safely, on time, and in full to customers
- Carry out daily vehicle checks in line with SOPs
- Ensure full compliance with Tachograph and driving regulations
- Assist with loading and unloading in line with depot practices
- Complete all paperwork and EPOD tasks accurately
- Maintain high standards of customer service at all times
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures, including PPE use
- Secure loads correctly using straps and nets
- Return empty kegs, damages, and returns to the depot
- Keep vehicle cab and load area clean and tidy
- Attend driver debriefs and communicate effectively with the transport team
- Support warehouse duties where required
- Direct and support the Driver’s Mate when needed
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Driver CPC & Digital Tacho Card
- No more than 3 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Physically fit – heavy lifting involved (kegs)
- Multi-drop experience preferred
- Good communication and customer service skills
