The Opportunity
You will join a dedicated Costs Team that works closely with contentious and non-contentious departments, providing strategic advice and practical support across a wide range of legal disciplines.
The work is varied, challenging, and intellectually rewarding, offering exposure to matters ranging from standard litigation costs issues through to substantial multi-million-pound disputes.

The role offers an excellent platform for an experienced Costs Lawyer looking to broaden their expertise and work on high-profile matters with significant client impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of costs matters from fast-track to multi-track litigation
- Preparing Bills of Costs, Points of Claim, Replies, Points of Dispute, and associated documentation
- Drafting and managing detailed cost budgets and budget revisions
- Assisting with Costs Case Management Conferences (CCMCs)
- Preparing budget discussion reports and advising on costs strategy
- Conducting costs negotiations and settlement discussions
- Monitoring budgets throughout proceedings and advising on variances
- Providing practical and commercially focused costs advice to fee earners and clients
- Supporting internal training initiatives and knowledge sharing
- Assisting with external client training and educational events
- Contributing to the ongoing development and profile of the Costs Team
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualified Costs Lawyer status (ACL) or equivalent experience
- Strong experience managing costs matters across a range of litigation types
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- In-depth knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and costs procedures
- Experience preparing Bills of Costs, budgets, and costs advice
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- The ability to manage complex matters independently
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience using costs drafting software and legal technology solutions
