Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily routines in accordance with personalised care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents and clients
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Support residents with medication reminders if trained and authorised to do so
- Facilitate social activities and encourage participation in community events
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment at all times
- Drive clients or residents when necessary, ensuring safe transportation for appointments or outings
Experience
- Prior experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them accurately
- Good IT skills for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation of clients or residents
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills
