We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment across our facilities. The Maintenance Engineer will play a vital role in troubleshooting, repairing, and supervising maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and automation issues using schematics and technical documentation.
- Programme, modify, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Perform welding repairs and mechanical adjustments as required to maintain equipment integrity.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Lead maintenance projects, supervise junior technicians, and coordinate repair schedules to minimise operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections for audit purposes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
- Assist in training team members on new systems or procedures as part of leadership responsibilities.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to perform repairs on various metal components.
- Solid electrical experience including circuit analysis, component replacement, and system diagnostics.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing machinery maintenance, alignment, and repair techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in plant or facility maintenance with a focus on reliability improvement.
- Excellent command of English language skills for effective communication within the team.
- Proven supervising experience with leadership qualities to manage maintenance teams effectively.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to respond professionally to internal stakeholders’ needs. Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour
