Job Title: Plant Engineer (Workshop & Mobile Cover)
Location: Haydock
Salary: £36,000.00 - £45,000.00
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (39 hours)
Plant Engineer - About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Engineer to join our growing team in Haydock. This role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional mobile responsibilities covering breakdowns when field service engineers are on leave.

Plant Engineer - Key Responsibilities
- Maintain construction plant hire equipment to a high standard
- Diagnose faults, carry out servicing, PDIs, and repairs
- Attend site breakdowns as required
- Perform routine servicing on equipment including:
- Diggers
- Dumpers
- Telehandlers
- Excavators
- Rollers and more
- Complete all administration tasks accurately, including PDA updates and damage reports with photos
Plant Engineer - Requirements
- Previous experience working with heavy plant machinery or plant hire equipment
- Experience with equipment such as dumpers, rollers, excavators, etc.
- Familiarity with brands such as Terex, Bomag, Komatsu, Liebherr, CAT, JCB or similar (desirable)
- Background in roles such as:
- Plant Engineer
- Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Fitter
- Service Engineer / Technician
- Heavy Plant Mechanic
- NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
