Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer preferences
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to specifications and presented attractively
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and serving to maintain high standards of excellence
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly followed, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Train new team members in kitchen procedures, food safety standards, and customer service expectations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area at all times in compliance with health regulations
- Support the development of new menu items and innovative culinary concepts
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, with familiarity in serving guests efficiently
- Experience in managing kitchen operations within a busy hospitality or catering environment is preferred
- A passion for culinary arts coupled with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
