Job Overview
We are looking to recruit an experienced Level 2 or 3 qualified Early Years Educator who is enthusiastic, motivated and able to work flexibly to support our Nursery over the busiest times of the day.
Shine Nursery is an established and well-regarded Early Years’ provision which is continuing to grow and develop. It is located in a purpose-built building operating 2 rooms which both have an outdoor space. The Nursery supports children aged 2-4 years, running term time only, and has a reputation for supporting children with Special Educational Needs, working in close partnership with parent/carers, specialist therapists and other agencies. We use The Thrive Approach to support children’s early social and emotional development and wellbeing.
The ideal candidate will be required to have a full and relevant Level 2 or 3 early years qualification along with some knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). They will be able to support the team with planning, observation, extending children’s learning and evaluating development. The successful candidate may be allocated a key group depending on the level of cover required. Some experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs may be advantageous but not essential.

Purpose of the role:
- To provide a high standard of physical, social and intellectual care for children attending the provision
- To work as part of the team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all children can play, develop and learn effectively
- To build and maintain strong partnership working with colleagues, parent/carers and professionals to enable children's needs to be met
Requirements and expectations:
- Hold a relevant and recognised Level 2 or 3 Early Years Education (or equivalent) qualification
- English and Maths GCSE equivalent
- Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of child development and children's needs and commitment to delivering exceptional childcare including high standards of physical and emotional support
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to Early Years, such as EYFS, SEN Code of Practice, Safeguarding
- A caring attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children's development and learning and promoting good practice in a professional and inclusive manner
- Ability to activity promote and support the safeguarding of all children in the provision, observing and adhering to policies and procedures, and ensuring confidentiality of all information received, to keep all children safe from harm
- Ability to work closely with other colleagues, parents and carers to develop an inclusive working partnership which supports the development of the children, while still being able to use own initiative
- Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time keeping and attendance
- Willingness to undertake relevant training opportunities and continued professional development when available
- Ability to be flexible and have a willingness to take on other responsibilities or duties as deemed necessary
Hours of work: Monday-Friday, term time only. Hours to be agreed.
Hourly pay: £12.71
