Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, solid culinary knowledge, and a genuine passion for creating high-quality dishes in a busy pub environment.
This role involves overseeing food preparation, supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen, and ensuring all dishes are prepared to a consistently high standard. You will also be responsible for maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety practices while helping to deliver a great dining experience for our customers.
The successful candidate will play an important part in maintaining our reputation for quality food and contributing to a positive, efficient kitchen in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, serving guests with professionalism and courtesy
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing a team in a fast-paced setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
