Job Overview
Many survivors continue to experience domestic abuse post separation, including economic abuse, stalking, harassment and ongoing control through the family courts.
The is a new and unique; four-year project that will support individuals and families affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence, after the domestic abuse relationship has ended where there are children involved.
The project will have a strong focus on holistic support for survivors and their children. The programme includes one to one work and group work session where parents who are dealing with post separation abuse will be able to learn about how they can be supported and how they can communicate and work with their children using a needs lead, trauma informed approach. A Road to Recovery Toolkit is being developed as part of this project based on the experience of survivors of post separation abuse.
The programme will use a strengths-based model of support, empowering people to learn about safety planning, healthy boundaries and how to make safe arrangements for children post separation. It will also help whole families to recover from domestic abuse post separation by improving their physical/mental health and wellbeing; helping to rebuild positive relationships.
