We are recruiting for a highly motivated and enthusiastic deputy manager, who is dedicated to lead, inspire and provide a warm nurturing environment where children can reach their full potential.
Previous experience in a similar position and up to date knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures are required.
Within this role as deputy manager you will be required to support and work with the manager while following and modelling our vision, mission and intent for Sticky fingers.
In the managers absence you will be responsible to ensure yourself and all the team work efficiently to meet our standards and ensure Sticky fingers policies and procedures are adhered too.
As deputy you will lead other staff to provide quality care, with a rich and stimulating learning environment, where all children can experience a range of carefully planned activities through play, which are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
You will ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and adhere to Safeguarding Procedures; Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers.
You will be a key person to a group of children, where you will follow the EYFS, to promote individual learning. We pride ourselves in practitioners to be interacting, through high standard of engagement with the children, to ensure they build positive relationships with the children.
Other duties will involve:
Delivering the ‘Letters and sounds’ program, to our preschool children.
To work as team to create our planning and curriculum.
To be deputy DSL within the setting

Requirements:
· Must hold, childcare level 3 qualification
· To have a knowledge and understanding of child development and the EYFS, including early learning outcomes and the characteristics of effective learning.
· To use this knowledge to contribute to our planning and to create a stimulating environment in which all of the children can learn and develop.
· To offer care for children, ensuring that they feel safe and secure.
· To supervise and observe groups of children at play.
· To follow and ensure all our policies are adhered to.
· To be a key person and in ratio
· To liaise with the management.
· To maintain excellent communication with parents/carers making them feel welcomed, reassured etc.
· To ensure a professional attitude at all times.
· Willing to learn.
· To show commitment.
· To have a can-do attitude
· Be able to work on own initiative.
The position will be a term time (38 weeks per year), 35 hours per week Mon-Friday. Start date September 2026.
