Occupational Health Advisor
Hove or Exeter | Hybrid Working | Contract Until 31st October 2026
OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join a well-established corporate occupational health team on a contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Health professional to deliver a high-quality occupational health service within a corporate environment, supporting employee health, wellbeing, and business objectives. The role offers a hybrid working pattern with three days onsite and two days remote each week.
The successful candidate will be based from either Hove or Exeter and should be within a reasonable commuting distance of their chosen location.
The Role
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will manage a varied occupational health caseload, providing expert advice and support to employees, managers, and key stakeholders. You will play an important role in supporting employee wellbeing, promoting a positive health culture, and ensuring occupational health services are delivered to the highest professional standards.
This position is expected to commence in June and is initially offered until 31st October 2026.
Key ResponsibilitiesOccupational Health Practice
- Manage occupational health referrals and case management activities
- Conduct fitness-for-work assessments, health surveillance programmes, and medical screenings
- Produce high-quality occupational health reports to support management decision-making
- Ensure all clinical activities are delivered in accordance with professional standards, ethical practice, and medical confidentiality requirements
- Support mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation
- Undertake workplace drugs and alcohol testing (training provided)
- Conduct Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments where required
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain effective relationships with managers and key stakeholders
- Provide clear, professional occupational health advice and guidance
- Deliver presentations, health promotion activities, and wellbeing initiatives as required
- Support effective communication across the wider occupational health service
Leadership & Professional Standards
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all aspects of the role
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the occupational health function
- Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and occupational health best practice
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Registered Adult Nurse qualification with current NMC registration
- Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health
- Strong occupational health case management experience
- Excellent report writing and clinical assessment skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
- A commitment to delivering high-quality occupational health services
Desirable Experience
- NMC Part 3 registration
- Experience conducting DSE assessments
- Previous experience within a corporate occupational health environment
