As an SEN Mentor, you will be instrumental in supporting the development of children with complex needs. Your role is vital in ensuring continuity of learning, providing emotional support, and maintaining a stimulating environment for every pupil you work with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specialist Support: Take the lead in mentoring students in SEN settings, ensuring high-quality support continues seamlessly.
- Adaptability: Provide 1-to-1 intervention and adapt quickly to support children while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Independence: Help children build strong foundations, managing behavioral challenges and enabling them to be as independent as possible.
- Curriculum Engagement: Develop and enhance learning areas within the SEN environment, contributing to a rich curriculum tailored to individual needs.
What we are looking for:
- Full-Time Commitment: Please note, these roles are strictly full-time. Our schools in Crossgates require consistent support for their pupils; there is no capacity for part-time or flexible hours.
- Passion for SEN: A genuine desire to inspire and support young learners with additional needs.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Experience in mentoring or leading activities, and a proven ability to work effectively within a school team.
- Empathy & Adaptability: Experience with diverse needs, demonstrating patience and a flexible approach.
- Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills to connect with children, parents, and staff.
