Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Team Leader to oversee operations during the night shift within a care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to care. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, ensure high standards of resident care, and maintain smooth night-time operations. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents throughout the night.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the night team to deliver exceptional care to residents in accordance with care plans and organisational policies
- Ensure all residents’ needs are met promptly and effectively during the night shift
- Oversee the administration of medication and document accurately in compliance with regulatory standards
- Monitor resident safety, respond to emergencies, and implement appropriate procedures as required
- Maintain clear communication with day staff to ensure continuity of care and relay important updates or concerns
- Supervise staff rotas, organise shift schedules, and support team development through coaching and mentoring
- Conduct regular checks on residents’ wellbeing, environment safety, and equipment functionality
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies at all times
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a care home or senior care environment
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Experience in developing or managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Ability to supervise staff, organise rotas, and motivate teams during night shifts
- Knowledge of IT systems used for documentation and reporting in healthcare settings
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transport-related responsibilities or emergencies
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing high-quality senior care
- Good organisational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations
Pay: £13.32 per hour
