Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Assistant to provide personalised care and assistance to an individual in their own home. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge and experience of working with people who have profound and multiple learning disabilities. The successful candidate will be working within an established Care Team with full training and support in place.
Duties
- Support client in all areas of health and personal care including administering medication, eating and drinking, bathing and dressing
- Follow all protocols and risk assessments as required
- Work within a team to ensure that the client experiences a balanced social and home life which includes a variety of opportunities specific to their needs and provides an environment which is stimulating, happy, supportive and respectful
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members
- Ensure a safe environment by following health and safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of working with people who have Learning Disabilities and are non-verbal
- Good communication skills both written and spoken
- Good interpersonal skills - non judgemental and solution-focussed
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ independence and quality of life
- Good sense of humour and the ability to diffuse/manage potentially stressful situations
- Ability to work flexible hours, be punctual and reliable
Pay: £12.71 per hour
