Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely in various environments. Duties
- Construct, install, and repair wooden structures such as frameworks, flooring, doors, and windows.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and finish materials according to specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Perform roofing tasks when required, including fixing tiles or sheets securely.
- Conduct masonry work as needed for structural support or aesthetic purposes.
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate construction activities.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with commercial driving duties when transporting materials or equipment between sites.
Skills
- Proficiency in welding techniques is desirable for specialised joinery tasks.
- Extensive experience with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers.
- Competence in operating power tools including drills, sanders, and saws.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Solid background in carpentry with an understanding of structural frameworks.
- Experience in roofing installation or repairs is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving is preferred for transportation duties.
- Knowledge of masonry techniques relevant to construction projects. This role requires a proactive approach to safety, excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship across all projects.
