A forward-thinking primary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to support a pupil with additional behavioural and emotional needs. Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural and emotional needs
- Build a positive, trusting relationship that promotes confidence and engagement
- Support pupils to access learning and remain focused throughout the school day
- Implement behaviour support strategies in partnership with teaching staff
- Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, parents, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress reviews
Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or a related field is desirable
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Strong understanding of behaviour support and inclusive practice
- Two professional references covering the previous two years
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
