Wilson Associates Ltd are recruiting a skilled Machine Operator specialising in Nut Welding to join our clients Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining welding machinery to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and mechanical processes to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate nut welding machines according to specifications and safety standards
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting on welding equipment
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of production data and machine performance
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading sheet metal components
- Follow safety protocols diligently to always ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and grinding techniques
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of sheet metal work and assembly processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, tooling, and basic measuring instruments such as callipers and gauges
- Strong understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations during setup and inspection
- Experience in using various hand tools and machinery specific to metal fabrication
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to maintain high standards of quality and safety
