Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter specialising in pot washing to support our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchenware, ensuring a smooth flow of operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry and develop essential culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, clean, and sanitise pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including floors, surfaces, and storage spaces
- Ensure all used crockery and cutlery are returned to appropriate storage areas in a clean condition
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by managing dishwashing duties promptly and effectively
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to promote a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and cleaning procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- A positive attitude towards hospitality service and willingness to learn new skills
