Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing windows and doors across various sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and related trades to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. A strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work efficiently are essential. The position involves working on diverse projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare window openings to ensure proper fitment
- Install new windows, including securing frames and sealing units effectively
- Remove old or damaged windows with care to minimise damage to surrounding structures
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to complete installations
- Follow schematics, technical drawings, and specifications accurately
- Conduct quality checks post-installation to ensure functionality and safety standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organised work site, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with repairs or modifications on existing window installations as needed
Qualifications
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in window fitting and general construction work
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to read technical plans and follow detailed instructions accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and lift heavy materials safely
- Relevant construction qualifications or certifications are preferred but not mandatory
- Capable of doing lintels
