HGV Technician – Newport

We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join a reputable and growing operation based in the Newport area.
You do not need to hold an NVQ Level 3 – while it is preferred, time-served technicians with hands-on HGV experience are strongly encouraged to apply. If you’ve got the skills, we want to hear from you.
About the Role:
You’ll be working on a wide range of HGVs, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to ensure the fleet remains safe, roadworthy, and reliable. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive workshop team with opportunities to progress and enhance your skills.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Using diagnostic equipment and following safety standards
- Completing job cards and all relevant documentation
- Supporting general workshop tasks and keeping the workspace clean
- (If applicable) Assisting with fabrication work or operating forklifts and excavators
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent – preferred but not essential
- Time-served technicians with proven HGV experience are highly valued
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A proactive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
