Situated on the tranquil banks of the River Yare, Water’s Edge is a renowned Norfolk Broad’s destination known for its stunning waterside views, fresh seasonal British cuisine, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. From sun-drenched summer days on our decking to cosy winter evenings by roaring fires, we are a year-round hub for both locals and visitors arriving by car or boat.
The Role
As our General Manager, you will be the face of Water’s Edge. You will take full ownership of the venue’s operations, ensuring that our "Good Food, Good Service, Good Atmosphere" mantra is delivered consistently every single day.
Key Responsibilities:
· Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
· Operational Excellence: Oversee the daily flow of a high-volume site, managing everything from our busy Sunday roasts to private celebrations and events.
· Service Standards: Drive improvements in service speed and guest satisfaction, ensuring every visitor receives a premium experience.
· Financial Management: Manage P&L, labor costs, and inventory to ensure the continued commercial success of this independent venue.
· Community Engagement: Build lasting relationships with our regular guests and the local boating community.
Who You Are
· An experienced Senior Manager or GM with a background in high-volume, premium gastropubs or independent restaurants.
· A "lead from the front" professional who isn't afraid to be hands-on during peak service.
· Passionate about local Norfolk produce and maintaining high culinary standards.
· Commercially astute with a track record of driving revenue through local marketing and exceptional service.
