Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling of materials, stock management, and order fulfilment within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills and contribute to smooth warehouse operations. The position involves physical tasks such as heavy lifting and load & unload activities, requiring attention to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking & packing, stocking, and inventory control
- Utilising warehouse management systems to track and record stock movements
- Assisting with shipping & receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
- Loading and unloading lorries, ensuring proper handling of goods during transfer
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times
- Supporting mechanical tasks where necessary, including basic maintenance or troubleshooting of equipment
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all operational procedures
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety protocols is advantageous
- Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is desirable; certification is a plus
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software will be beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during load & unload activities
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is a bonus
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking & packing, stocking, and quality control tasks

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
