Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced, friendly and outgoing General Manager to take over at the William the Fourth pub. We're looking for someone with previous management experience in a hospitality setting, with good leadership qualities, communication skills and the ability to keep on top of the day to day organisation of the of the pub. You'll be expected to work closely with the assistant managers, supervisors and bar staff to maintain a high standard of customer service and efficiency in the work place.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead all staff members, completing rotas, as well as the hiring and training of any new employees.
- Manage the weekly banking of the pub, organising cash ups and change orders.
- Organise the weekly ordering of stock and oversee the deliveries from our brewers and suppliers.
- Run both weekend and weekday shifts, leading the staff working on these shifts.
- Working with doorstaff on weekend shifts to ensure a safe environment is maintained through the premises.
- Maintain a positive work environment that encourages a hardworking team ethic.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and health & safety regulations.
Experience
- At least 2 years management experience in a pub or bar setting.
- A personal license is essential for this role.
- Prior experience in managing finances, cashing up, change orders and overlooking the weekly banking of the pub.
- Experience in leading management shifts, organising a team and creating rotas.
- Sufficient knowledge on beer, wines and spirits and well as basic cocktail experience.
- Experience in cellar upkeep, helping to maintain a clean and safe space to store stock.
Details
- 35-40 hours per week
- £35k per year plus bonus scheme (2-5k per year)
