We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter. This role will predominantly cover North Devon, supporting local contracts and housing stock. However, as we operate across the wider South West region, there may be occasions where travel to other areas is required.
You will deliver a wide range of planned and larger-scale works, maintenance, and refurbishment projects across occupied social housing properties, council buildings, and other public sector sites. The role requires strong carpentry expertise, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, on schedule, and in line with Health & Safety and customer care standards.
Proven experience working with UPVC windows and doors, along with soffits and fascias is essential for this role.

Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of carpentry including first fix and second fix works
- Install, repair, and maintain doors, frames, skirting, architraves, kitchens, and flooring
- Install, repair, and maintain UPVC windows, doors, soffits, and fascias to a high standard
- Complete responsive repairs and planned maintenance tasks efficiently
- Ensure high-quality finishing and attention to detail in all works
- Communicate effectively with tenants, clearly explaining work, timescales, and any disruption
- Deliver a polite, professional, and respectful service at all times
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, company policies, and H&S procedures
- Use appropriate PPE and maintain safe working environments
- Complete work right first time to minimise follow-up visits
- Accurately record work details using handheld devices or job sheet systems
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good order
What You’ll Need
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven experience in property maintenance or social housing environments
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- Experience working in occupied properties with a strong customer care focus
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- CSCS Card (preferred but not essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards of work

The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
Pay: £27,000.00-£36,700.00 per year
