As HCMUK continues to prioritise the safety and well-being of its workforce, we are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior HSE Advisor to join our team in Hebburn.
*Although this role will be based at Hebburn, it will involve travel across the UK to other business locations as required. This role will be responsible for supporting our Hebburn HQ, regional depots, and off-site activities at third party locations.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and update HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Implement HSE policies across all departments and sites, providing guidance and support.
- Line Management responsibilities for HSE Advisor.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for members of the HSE team.
- Set clear goals and objectives for team members, monitoring progress and providing feedback.
- Oversee the scheduling of holidays and manage employee absences.
- Support operational departments in ensuring COSHH compliance.
- Assist with and/or complete regular formal safety inspections and internal audits as required.
- Coordinate occupational hygiene monitoring, including noise and air quality assessments.
- Support in the investigation of accidents, near misses and incidents to establish root cause, identify corrective actions and potential improvement opportunities.
- To provide expert, professional health and safety advice, guidance, and support to all parties.
- Ensure all activities have been adequately risk assessed, with safe systems of work being agreed.
- Support HR department in delivering health and safety inductions, including manual handling and DSE training for all new employees.
- Lead health and safety committees and cross functional working groups.
- Lead and prepare toolbox talks, safety alerts, and internal news items.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- 5+ yearsexperience in a similar position.
- Recognised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH.
- Recognised environmental qualification such as NEBOSH or IEMA Environmental Certificate.
- Membership of a professional body such as IOSH or IEMA.
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong communicator and the ability to positively influence others.
Preferred
- CSCS card and/ or Quarry Passport holder.
- Previous experience of working to internationally recognised standards including ISO 45001.
- DSE assessor qualified (or willing to complete training on taking on the role).
- Manual handling trainer qualified (or willing to complete training on taking on the role).
