A rare and very exciting opportunity to join our Surgical Centre Gillingham, (formally known as the Will Adams hospital) in the role of Clinical Governance Manager and Infection Prevention and Control Lead.
You will be expected to work closely with the Hospital Manager, Head of Nursing and Senior Management team as well as Departmental Leads to embed and manage a quality governance, assurance and regulatory programme.
As our Clinical Governance Manager and IPC Lead, you will:
- Lead and Champion the patient safety agenda using the Patient Safety Incident Response framework
- Promote a safety culture to implement safety alerts/guidance/best practice/lessons from incidents
- Coordinate and manage patient feedback including complaints
- Drive clinical and Centre wide audits, ensuring we are effective in what we do and that we adhere to NICE guidance in each of our clinical areas
- Support, manage, influence, advise and coordinate our teams to ensure compliance with incident reporting, KPI, clinical effectiveness and risk management
- Support in the review of centre performance to ensure full compliance with the CQC standards of care
- Lead the preparation for inspection or assessment visits from the CQC and other relevant regulatory bodies
- Support leadership and specialist advice and support to all teams on all aspects of IPC
- Lead the suite of Governance meetings providing associated clinical governance update report
- Be involved with relevant professional organisations and networks, to seek continuous opportunities for service improvement through policy development and implementation
- Manage medical device compliance and coordinate the teams to ensure equipment safety and standards are achieved
- Identify and review staff training compliance and local and central clinical and operational policies and standard operating procedures with the support from the Head of Nursing (This may involve organising training sessions and providing ongoing support to staff)
To be considered for this role you will need to be a qualified Health Care professional with relevant current professional registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC GMC, ACP), as well as:
- 5+ years relevant experience in hospital-based functions
- Demonstrable experience within clinical Governance
- At least 2 years working in a management/ senior role
- Experience/ Qualification within Infection Prevention and Control (Desirable, but not essential, but willing to undertake)
