Manchester
£60,000 - £ 75,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a top-tier national Banking & Finance team with a particular focus on Leveraged Finance and Corporate Lending. This is a key strategic hire as the team continues to expand its presence and market share across Manchester and the North of England.
The successful candidate will join a firm with a strong national reputation in banking and finance, working closely with an integrated UK-wide team while helping to shape and grow the regional offering. You’ll have the structure, mentorship, and resources of a leading firm — combined with the opportunity to make a real impact locally.
The Opportunity
You will handle a broad range of high-quality finance work, advising on transactions across the full deal lifecycle. The role will involve:
- Acting on leveraged finance, corporate finance, sponsor-led transactions, and growth lending / venture debt matters.
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documentation (LMA and non-LMA form), and inter creditor arrangements.
- Collaborating closely with corporate and restructuring teams on complex transactions.
- Managing “in-life” portfolio work for clients, including waivers, resets, restatements, and bolt-ons.
- Taking an active role in client relationship management and business development, with strong scope for progression and autonomy.
This is an outstanding opportunity to assume early matter responsibility while gaining exposure to sophisticated, cross-border transactions and blue-chip clients.
The Team
You’ll be joining one of the UK’s most respected Banking & Finance practices, advising both borrowers and lenders — including major financial institutions, investors, and high-growth businesses.
The team’s expertise spans:
- Corporate and leveraged finance
- Asset and real estate finance
- Project finance and invoice discounting
- Bilateral and syndicated lending
With a collaborative national structure, this position offers excellent exposure to multi-jurisdictional work, cross-departmental collaboration, and the chance to work alongside recognised experts in the field.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with around 4–8 years’ PQE (though all levels considered).
- Proven experience in leveraged or corporate finance transactions.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to draft and negotiate key finance documents.
- Confident communicator with a commercial, client-focused mindset.
- Ambitious, proactive, and keen to play a part in the firm’s continued growth and success in the North.
Why This Firm?

- Hybrid working and flexible hours.
- 25+ days’ annual leave, increasing with service.
