Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Deputy Manager based in Birmingham.
The successful applicant will assist the home manager and guide the staff team to provide high quality support and care to young people presenting a variety of diagnosis and behaviours that challenge.
As a group, we currently have 28 homes across the West Midlands and support young people aged from 16 to 24 years of age. We are one of the leading providers in the West Midlands specialising in transitional care and preventing hospital admissions.
Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of statutory and procedural frameworks for residential care and communicating this to members of the team
- Ensuring that staffing levels meet the requirements of the home and its residents
- To liaise with external parties, carers and parents as required.
- Ensuring each young person has a person centred care plan which reflects all their support and personal needs.
- Ensuring all new staff receive a thorough induction
- Report and assist the manager in revolving issues relating to staff motivation, conduct and competences of staff members
- Monitoring finances and ensuring budgets are managed effectively
- Supervising team leaders and senior staff including supervisions, appraisals and probation sign offs
- Keeping all relevant paperwork up to date
- Completion of audits and reports
- On call duties
- Administration of medication and oversight of procedures and management of medication
- Covering in the absence of the home manager
- A good understanding of CQC legislation and standards ( KLOE’s)
- To take the lead in dealing with emergency or complex situations that may arise.
