Klas Steel has two fabrication depots in Milton Keynes and Leighton Buzzard. We are seeking skilled STEEL ERECTORS to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong foundation in various welding techniques and fabrication processes, demonstrating both precision and attention to detail.
As an Erector, your role is in constructing and assembling metal structures, ensuring safety and quality standards are met throughout the process.
Site locations are typically in London and the Home Counties.
Steel Erector Responsibilities:
- Assemble metal components according to specifications and drawings.
- Perform stick welding to join steel pieces (as required).
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following all health and safety protocols.
- Assist in the assembly of structural frameworks for buildings, bridges, and other structures.
- Reviewing installation packs/drawings and ensuring vans are loaded with required fixings etc.
- Travelling to site location as part of a 2 man team dependant on project requirements.
- Maintaining a professional manner whilst on site and when communicating with clients or other project stakeholders you encounter.
Steel Erector Skills:
- Proficient Stick welding techniques.
- Relevant site tickets - CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card preferred, but not essential.
- Strong structural steel knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Competent in using various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative.
- Previous experience in assembly tasks is advantageous as we deliver high-quality projects for our clients.
- Drive a company vehicle in a responsible manner, if required.
