We are recruiting for an experienced International Trade Compliance Manager to lead UK/EU trade compliance activities within a global aerospace and defence environment.
This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK export controls, EU regulations, and US ITAR/EAR requirements across operations in the UK, France and Germany. You will act as the regional subject matter expert, supporting business operations, managing compliance risk, and driving best practice across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead trade compliance activities across UK/EU operations
- Manage export licensing, classifications, customs and sanctions compliance
- Support cross-border shipments and controlled technology transfers
- Provide guidance to Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial teams
- Conduct compliance monitoring, audits and risk assessments
- Deliver trade compliance training and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage and develop a UK-based Trade Compliance Analyst
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Trade Compliance within Defence or Aerospace
- Strong knowledge of UK export controls, EU regulations and ITAR/EAR
- Experience with export licensing, customs compliance and risk management
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with a hands-on approach
- Experience using ERP systems, SharePoint and MS Office
